8th Note is one of the first TCGs to feature J-Pop music videos. The site features videos by Ayame's favorite Jpop artists: Ayumi Hamasaki, Namie Amuro, Mai Kuraki, BoA, Utada Hikaru, and Do As Infinity.

Site Information[]

Background[]

The game was small and eventually Ayame had made decks for every single music video for the artists she featured. She then expanded the decks to other jpop artists, including people like the brilliant green, Kumi Koda, YUKI, and more. Shortly after, she closed the site.

Cards[]

Each deck has 5 cards in a deck. The game had an overall theme of musical note types.

Each artist has one color; for example, Namie Amuro's color was blue, so all her decks has a blue border around them. The notes followed the same colors as the artists (AKA blue notes could be traded in for Namie Amuro cards) as well.

Layout Cards[]

Member Cards[]

Member cards in 8th Note were made by the members themselves, so there was no template for them.

Mastering Decks[]

Currency[]

8th Note has two types of currency: coins and music notes. As previously mentioned, the music notes followed the same colors as the artists, and you had to collect enough of the right color in order to trade them for random or choice cards from that artist. These were based on note values in music theory in 4/4 time.
